
I thought I might take the time to post a gallery of 11 posters that were part of a design proposal for Cranbrook Academy of Art. These posters were to be 26″x40″ and part of the marketing material for the Academy. As a designer I am very conscious of my history. What I mean by this is that I am always attempting to explore new conceptual and formal terrain. My 2008 posters for the Academy successfully dealt with a number of issues. I did not want to simply repeat my self. So I made a conscious effort to make a radical break from that aesthetic. The results of which are shown in this Flickr gallery. The Academy ultimately decided that this direction wasn’t appropriate. It’s important to point out that I have absolutely no problem with this decision, I deeply respect the institution and am ceaselessly attempting to make work that defies even my own expectations.
