Cranbrook 2D Department
The 2D Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art is a graduate design program. Elliott Earls is the Designer-in-Residence and the sole faculty of this department. The work in the department over the course of Elliott Earls tenure has focused on pushing design into an expanded field. Often the work produced in the department inhabits a kind of edge condition that draws equally upon design and art practice.
